"A Humble Current" Original Oil Painting

$1,600.00

This painting is an homage to a few of the humble members of my New Jersey ecosystems that are so common, they are easily overlooked and underappreciated: the cottontail rabbit and the dandelion.

This painting measures 12" x 16" and is custom framed in a stained wood frame. The full size of the framed piece is 16" x 20".

These species are common, but they’re also essential and magnificent. Cottontails are nature’s lawn mower: they keep vegetation in check and provide an important food source for predators. Dandelions help protect the soil in multiple ways: the plant’s long roots help to aerate compacted soil, and because they grow so quickly, dandelions cover bare areas of ground quickly which prevents erosion and holds in moisture. We don’t necessarily appreciate these species, but they carry on nonetheless, finding space for themselves in a world that is not always accommodating.

All paintings are meticulously packaged to ensure that your artwork arrives safe and sound, and all U.S. orders ship free! :)
